BAA has launched a new free text messaging service at Heathrow Airport to keep passengers updated on their flights. Passengers are able to sign up online for the Flying Messenger service and will receive text messages via their mobile phone, information includes information on expected departure time, delays and an alert when boarding is beginning.
The alert service will be extended to BAA’s six other UK airports early in 2009. Passengers can sign up for the service up to two hours before their flight’s departure.
