Monarch Airlines which operates both charter and scheduled flights to holiday sun destinations in Spain, Portugal and Cyprus says that holiday bookings for Summer 2009 are up 43% compared to the same period last year. The low fares airline also revealed that an online poll run on their website suggested that people are bucking the credit crunch and are determined to continue to spend money on things that are important to them such as holidays.
Monarch will also launch a new route from London Gatwick to Grenada and Tobago on December 17th on its Airbus A330 aircraft, which offers 307 seats in economy and 51 in its premium economy cabin. The flight will operate once weekly and will replace a former XL Airways service.
