Jet2 Announce New Route

Low fares airline Jet2 will launch a new route between Leeds Bradford and Albert in the Picardie region of northern France, near the site of the historic Battle of the Somme. The new route which will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays between April and June next year and will allow people to take battlefield breaks.

Jet2's managing director said "Battlefield breaks are becoming tremendously popular within the tourism industry and we anticipate the vast majority of passengers flying to Albert will be travelling there to see the sights and experience the history of key events during World War 1". When the route opens Jet2 will be the only direct scheduled airline operating from the UK to Albert.
